What is Codex32?
Codex32 allows you to split your Bitcoin seed into multiple “shares” using Shamir’s Secret Sharing. Only a threshold number of shares (e.g., 2-of-3) is needed to recover your seed. Unlike standard single-sig backups, losing one share doesn’t compromise your security — and finding one share doesn’t give an attacker your keys.
All secret calculations use pen, paper, and a simple volvelle. You’ll still need electronic devices to derive public keys and transact, but the seed generation and verification is trust-minimized to the maximum extent physically possible.
